Podcasts are another way to grasp news, information, and drama. Podcasts can vary from important news to TikTok drama. There’s a podcast made for each and every one. I will be highlighting a few podcasts of varying interests.

For mental health, Radio Headspace is a great recommendation. When I’m overwhelmed with school and athletics, I look forward to listening to Radio Headspace. The podcast brings on numerous individuals who help with specific issues: feeling burnt out, comparisons, uncertainty, and physical pain. I recommend taking a bit of time out of your day to listen feeling at ease. It’s a lot shorter compared to most podcasts. Each podcast is about six minutes each, not taking as much time as an hour-long podcast. Something to do on the way to class or a quick breather during the day.

Another recommendation is Follow Him with Hank Smith and John Bythway. If you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this podcast is directed towards Come Follow Me. When I listen to the podcast, I’m able to get more information about parables, scriptures, and the stories told within The Book of Mormon, The New Testament, and The Old Testament. Hank and John go into depth about each Come Follow Me reading, I’m able to take into account what happens and find a better understanding of the old dialect and stories. Would recommend it if you’re trying to keep up with Come Follow Me.

For SVU student-athletes, HeadCoachU is fantastic to listen to. Current New Mexico head football coach Bronco Mendenhall talks about past and current realignment in athletic conferences, the issues in college athletics, and student-athletes’ mental health. I listened to the podcast everywhere, from doing homework to walking to class. It’s an interesting take on how a coach got so caught up in winning and had to take a break from losing himself and his faith. Would recommend it, especially to those who love college football.

Funny but not for the light-hearted — This Past Weekend with Theo Von. Theo Von is a very strange and random podcaster. He’s funny and keeps the conversation going while talking about serious topics. I don’t think you’ll ever listen to another individual similar to Theo Von. He brings on celebrities, artists, and professional athletes. Some topics are more serious than others, depending on how the conversation turns. Worth listening to and finding out more about your favorite celebrities or high-profile individuals.

Here are my recommendations when listening to podcasts. I enjoy listening to numerous genres, from something humorous like Theo Von to a church podcast. If you have any recommendations, please let me know in the comments!
