Drip, drip, drop

Listen as the rain seeps down

Pitter, pitter, plop

For our town, a shining new crown

Pitter, patter, pitter, patter

One after the other

Beat, beat, batter

A phenomenon no one can smother

A clanging tune

Beating on the rooftops

Few hope it will be over soon

Falling with little plops

Crackle as the sky splits

Lightning flashes bit by bit

Then a resounding rumble

As if the world will crumble

Splash, splish, splash

Against my shins, puddles smash.

Nothing sounds as sweet

As the rains rhythmic beat.
