Quick recap of some things that you should know if you are going to live in Utah and work in/around tech:

  • The Jazz are owned by Ryan Smith
  • Ryan bought the Jazz from the Miller family
  • The Jazz play in Vivint Arena
  • Vivint was started by Todd Pedersen
  • Ryan and Todd are both icons in Utah for business, flat-brimmed hats, giving back to the community

If you are currently unaware, Utah County is getting its own branch of Primary Children’s Hospital in Lehi. It has thus far raised a bunch of money from all the aforementioned titans of Utah.

Special shoutout to the Deseret News for managing to capture $55 Million donated from 2 couples, and taking/choosing the photo that makes 2 of the richest men in Utah look like they are the alien wearing the Edgar suit from Men in Black.

In seriousness, Utah County’s population is growing quickly (projected to double in size through 2050), and has a whole hell of a lot of kids. Seriously, go to any Chik-fil-A in Utah County and see for yourself. Adding another childrens hospital will improve the lives of families across the state of Utah, as well as in neighboring states.
