On day 1 guests and the labbers talked a lot about library innovation, but what impressed me most was not the examples of library innovation in other countries and the successful outcomes by the social lab from other countries; instead, that was the emphasis on public engagement from different sectors, not only limited to the constitution of the labbers but also the diversity of stories. This led to my reflection of the essence of the social lab: social lab itself may not produce a very significant result on the specific policies innovation. However, it really fosters consensus building and sphere of engagement into public affairs and discussion. We, as the labbers, shold always bare that in mind.
