Methodology: While breastfeeding last night, I made a list of one hundred funny women off the top of my head (and typed it one-handed). I then went to the Internet to remember who I’d forgotten. Each of these women is either (a) a well-known comedian or comedy writer; (b) has toplined a comedy movie or TV show (c) has been nominated for an Emmy in a comedy series (d) is a recurring character on a comedy or comedic series; (e) was notably featured in a comedy movie; (f) was hilarious hosting SNL; (g) has made a name in online spaces; (h) are funny in talk-show or reality settings; (i) is Meryl Streep.
If you haven’t heard of them, that’s okay. They don’t care if you like it.
