On Friday, June 6, three people have been arrested from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh for allegedly abducting and molesting a woman in Unnao a few days ago.

The matter came to light after a six-day-old video of the incident went viral on the social media. After the complaint was registered in Gangaghat police station. The police have arrested three people who were seen in the video. They are identified as Rahul, Akash and Vimal.

According to the Unnao superintendent of police Harish Kumar, a team of seven people is believed to have abducted the woman on Saturday. The quest to find and arrest the others is ongoing. He also said that the arrested had been interrogated about their whereabouts, as reported by Hindustan Times.

“Harassing a woman and filming the incident on a cellphone with the intention of posting it on the social media is a serious crime. Nobody one will be spared,” added Kumar.

In the video, the men are seen abusing the woman and dragging her deep into the forest by pulling her hair. Even more, shocking was the fact that the men turned a deaf ear to the woman as she pleaded to let her go. She repeatedly said, “Bhaiya, aise mat karo” (Brother, don’t do this) as one of the molesters threatened her that they would make the video viral.

The woman is yet to be identified, and the police are trying to find her. Investigations are on in the matter.
