Hello fellas, another blog from me and I will be posting on a weekly basis since today. Well, since i have been sick for a while and have been spending time indoors , I have watched some cool sports anime which literally makes you yearn to go out of house and feel the breeze and just go run wildly into the woods as if you are a free bird, the smell of the earth and surrounding trees which enters your philtrum brings memories of whatever the outdoor time you spent. This anime will invigorate you to keep training , doing the things you love and most importantly never to give up on your dreams.

Note: Don’t read if you haven’t watched the anime.

Kuroko No Basket

One of my favorite anime in the world of sports. Its simply amazing. It begins with the story of 5 amazing players in the field of basketball and another phantom sixth man, an exceptional team which never lost any match against any school. The team players name were Akashi Seijuro, Aomine Daiki, Midorima Shintaro, Murasakibara Atsushi, Kise Ryota and the phantom sixth man being Kuroko Tetsuya. These players were well known in Japan and were called as the “Generation Of Miracles”.

Have you loved playing a sport so much that you are the player who gives everything you have in a game but the people whom you are playing against have suddenly lost the will to fight just because you are too strong for the other players or they are perhaps, scared of you, envy you? The team you belong to always keeps on winning but you don’t have the urge to play anymore because you know that you are going to win, that there is no other team who can beat you and suddenly, you begin to ask questions like “What exactly is victory?”. If you are not happy even after winning the game, have you actually won anything? Why the sport I have been playing for suddenly doesn’t interest anymore?

“When you came to hate something that you liked, it’s incredibly painful”

When these were the thoughts of members of the best basketball team in Japan, their captain, Akashi Seijuro decided to renounce the team and go against each other during their high school period and thus, begins a journey towards “ Which is the best basketball team in Japan” after the group of six members are not together and thus, the competitive atmosphere of playing against each other enlivens the spirit of each member of the Generation of Miracles.

Akashi Seijuro, captain of the Generation Of Miracles , a character having an egocentric personality. As soon as this character is introduced in the anime, you realize no wonder he has the grandeur and pompousness of that befitting a king. Having good judgement, he knows very well what skills an individual on his team should be focusing on. His speciality lies in his use of the Emperor Eye and ankle breaking along with his remarkable ability to make quick decisions during the game and his control over the team. He also has alter ego issues which lets him shift to his different form when faced against a worthy opponent and when his pride is on the line. The captain of Generation of Miracles is introduced in the second season of the anime, until then there’s the atmosphere of curiosity as to who is this captain, so revered by all team members.

“Winning is everything in this world. The victors write history and the losers are wiped from it” — Akashi Seijuro

Midorima Shintaro from Shutoku High School

The long range projectile shooter , Shintaro Midorima comes from the Shutoku High School and his basketball shots are extraordinary. In his game against Seirin High School, it was noticed that his shooting range was the entire court which leaves everyone stunned in the court. This character is believed to be seriously superstitious. He is a firm believer of the horoscope and carries a lucky item with him on a daily basis and believes that his shots never miss. He is also seemed to be in the habit of taping his fingers. His work ethic is laudable. He will take the basketball game very seriously , will not miss any practice games and is dedicated and disciplined.

“There’s no shame in falling down. True shame is to not stand up again.” — Midorima

Aomine Daiki

Aomine Daiki, a prodigy in the field of basketball, he has loved playing basketball ever since he was a child. Whenever he plays basketball, its terrific, his agile movements, his street style play, everything he worked hard for eventually paved way for him to be in the prestigious Generation Of Miracles. He can forcefully get into “The Zone”, which is believed to be obtained by those who have put off number of hours than any other individual in that specific field, the point where an individual is so focused in the game that playing comes naturally to them. Aomine plays basketball because its fun.

“The only one who can beat me is me.” — Aomine

Murasakibara Atsushi, a character blessed with a great physique for basketball. He could be defined as a player who is shown to be sick of playing basketball. Earlier, it is mentioned that he hates basketball but plays it because he is talented and can defeat most opponents and has somewhat sadistic personality since he likes to crush those people who believe hard work, guts, faith is everything that is required in a game but later on in the anime series, his love for basketball is seen when he enters the ephemeral zone during the match between Yosen and Seirin High School. His speciality is using the Thor’s Hammer which is dunking forcefully into the basket and his job is blocking his opponents. He loves to have sweets very much and his traits are like a child, gets angered very easily when mocked.

“I hate practice but i hate losing even more.” — Murasakibara

Kise Ryota, a Kaijo High School basketball player who plays basketball for fun, is the ace of his team and his role model was Aomine Daiki when he first entered the Teiko school. He is skilled in “Perfect Copy” which is believed to be a skill where the player completely copies a move which is seen once of either his opponent or his team members and then adjusting it to one’s own benefit in a game. His ability to learn quickly is impressive and lets him to be a member of the Generation Of Miracles. Other than being a basketball player, he is also known for being a model and is famous among girls too.

“If I don’t go in now, I don’t deserve to be called the Ace”- Kise Ryota

“If winning were so simple, it would be too easy.” — Kuroko

Kuroko Tetsuya, his personality isn’t thatcharming , at least not when it comes to the sport of basketball. Though provided with the inability of not so good physique, the evolution of the character in this entire anime series is a peculiar one indeed. At the start of anime, it is revealed how Kuroko helps his other team members by simply passing the ball by using his lack of presence on the court. In the beginning, he can’t shoot the ball with so much accuracy but later on he was able to use phantom shot and also his full court end to end pass to Kagami used in the Shutoku game was noteworthy. He was known to be the shadow of the Seirin High School and even though being mocked by other players, he has an attitude of never giving up and being optimistic in anyone situation he was in.

Kagami Taiga, an American player who is transferred to Japan and meets Kuroko wherein Kuroko acknowledges him to be the “True Light of Seirin High School” and himself as the shadow. His purpose was to meet the Generation of Miracles and challenge them and strive to have a career in the field of basketball. When this opponent played against Aomine, it was realized by the team of Generation of Miracles that he will eventually become one of them. He has an innate and remarkable jumping ability. He is the ace of his team and in the second season of series he invoked “The Zone” within him. His peculiarity is using the “Meteor Jam”. Furthermore, in the third season, in the game against Rakuzan, he used the ability of putting his team in synchronization with his zone and lead his team to victory.

“After all life is about challenges! Without strong opponents, living isn’t fun. Its perfect if i can’t win”

The healthy competition among the team members and their various personalities is what makes this anime very thrilling to watch.

Thank you for reading~
