In an interview with the CBC, Montreal chef/restauranteur/icon Dave McMillan is crowning Toronto as the food capital of Canada…ok, maybe he didn’t officially “crown” it per se, but he definitely loves what the city is up to. McMillan cites diverse farms, amazing local wines and some serious culinary talent as reasons why Toronto is killing it lately. Meanwhile, McMillan suggests the Montreal restaurant scene is a bit stagnant right now and also has some pretty harsh words for the powers that be at City Hall. Add to the mix the whole Joel Robuchon fiasco at the Casino De Montreal and you start understanding his (and many other local restauranteurs we presume) frustrations.
