14,000 Square Foot Commercial/Residential space planned at Mandeville & St. Claude

According to an HDLC-proposed site plan, a 2-story mixed use building is to be built at 2270 St. Claude, former site of shuttered and blighted furniture store, Imperial Furniture.
The mixed-use building will provide 11 residential units, and a 5,631 square foot commercial area.
In an HDLC meeting on June 27, 2017, the owner of the property discussed the renovation. The agenda for that meeting described the discussion:
Renovation of existing two-story vacant commercial building to mixed-use
development to include new gallery and the restoration of existing Victorian
shotgun.
