The End of the World

So the election happened, and while the world didn’t actually end, it certainly hasn’t been a perfectly smooth process. Tuesday night, as the votes were counted, tensions were *high*…so naturally drinks were needed to help relieve that stress. Cleverly (or not), I chose to assuage people’s concerns by reminding them all of the other ways the world could end…

Apocalypse by Weather

  • Hurricane — Rum, Grenadine, Orange Juice, Lemon Juice
  • Tsunami — Rum, Ginger Beer, Lime Juice
  • Earthquake — Bourbon, Cointreau, Bitters
  • Tornado — Whiskey, Vodka, Rum, Tequila, Coke, Lemon Juice
  • Fire Tornado — Fireball, Vodka, Rum, Tequila, Coke

Apocalypse by Technology

  • Strong AI — Fireball, Apple Bourbon
  • Weak AI — Hard Cider
  • Robot Takeover — Whiskey, Vodka, Grenadine
  • Nuclear Fallout — Blue Curacao, Vodka, Orange Juice (Warning — this drink is a very radioactive shade of green, not for the weak of heart.)

Apocalypse by Other Life Forms

  • Plague — Strawberry Pucker, Dark Rum
  • Aliens — Absinthe, Bourbon, Bitters
  • Zombie — Rum, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice
  • Monster — Captain Morgan Jack-O-Blast (Pumpkin Rum), Triple Sec

Apocalypse by Religion

  • Rapture — Gin, Triple Sec
  • Lucifer — Shot of Tequila mixed with Tabasco Sauce
  • Flood — Ouzo, Water

Apocalypse by Human Folly

  • Civil War — You must get this drink with a friend. First, each of you will pick one liquor, which you’d like to be a component of your friend’s drink. Then, I’ll roll a die to randomly choose a third liquor, which will be mixed into both of your drinks. So if Alice and Bob pick Rum and Tequila respectively, and I roll Fireball, then Alice drinks Tequila+Fireball and Bob drinks Rum+Fireball. (This is a bit more complicated than I’d like, but was meant as a patch against the Mad Scientist from last time- now you need a friend to agree in order to drink randomly mixed alcohols, so less people will try to do it again and again.)
One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
