Geely is making strides in the electric vehicle market, and recently released a teaser for a new EV — an electric sedan. It is part of their plan to launch several vehicles underpinned by their SEA architecture.

The sleek machine promises to be an eye-catching addition to the Geely family, with its edgy design and modern features.

Geely’s upcoming mystery sedan will be taking the world by storm in 2023. Our curiosity is piqued — let’s see what they have in store.

The teaser video shows off the side profile of the Geely EV, it’s overall design takes on much similarities to the Mercedes VISION EQXX and the Porsche Taycan.

Aston Martin’s chairman has increased his stake in the company in order to ward off advances from Geely, according to a report. The move is reportedly intended to protect the luxury British car maker from a possible hostile takeover by the Chinese automotive group.

In October, Geely bought a 7.6 per cent stake of Aston Martin Lagonda for £66 million (A$118.73 million). CEO Li Shufu has expressed some interest in increasing this to 10 per cent, and with Aston Martin’s current low share prices, it could be a good time to try to make this move.

Geely’s current stake in Aston Martin is not as large as that of the Saudi Public Investment Fund (18.7 per cent) and Mercedes-Benz (9.7 per cent).

In July, the Atlas Consortium — which consists of Geely and InvestIndustrial — offered a staggering £1.3 billion (A$2.27b) injection into Aston Martin, but their proposal was instantly rejected by the British sports car maker’s board, who declared that “there is no platform for further discussion”.
