Volvo, who co-own Polestar, revealed recently that they will be upgrading the single-motor variants of the XC40 and C40 Recharge electric crossovers for the 2024 model year; switching the vehicles from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive.

The Swedish electric performance car brand reported in the fourth quarter of 2022 delivering around 21,000 vehicles, which brings the estimated worldwide volumes for the complete year to 51,500 cars — an 80% jump from the previous year.

In 2023, Polestar anticipates worldwide production to rise by almost 60%, likely reaching 80,000 cars. This growth is expected to be driven mainly by strong sales of Polestar 2, and will be further reinforced in the latter part of the year with the first handovers of Polestar 3.
