Gunther Werks have designed a 522 kW air-cooled 911 known as ‘Project Tornado’.

We are continually treated to some tastefully modified Porsche models and the latest is Gunter Werks’ Project Tornado. This impressive build is based on the 993-generation 911.

The model has had significant updates, making it more powerful and lighter. Driving the captivating orange coupe is a twin-turbocharged 4,0 litre V8 engine which, although different from the original, pays tribute to the 993-generation as the last Porsche 911 to use air-cooled technology.

Gunther Werks preserves the iconic look of a Porsche interior, with some modern touches. The steering wheel comes with convenient buttons to control track mode and the nose lift system. For a truly unified aesthetic, a variety of orange accents to reflect the exterior hue are featured throughout.

This car offers luxury in the form of carbon fibre bucket seats, a standard three-point belt or a five-point harness to ensure passenger safety. For those that are interested in having one customised according to their own specifications, Gunther Werks offers a touring package including different seating, an accessory front boot space, a ducktail spoiler and a re-tuned engine.

About 5 months ago Gunther Werks posted “we were honored to return to The Quail , A Motorsports Gathering and unveil our Project Tornado amongst many legendary debuts. We have met connoisseurs and automotive aficionados from around the world and showed the public our latest enhanced analog experience project . Sitting on the lush green around the Santa Lucia mountain, it was the perfect setting for the World Debut of this 10 year Dream Project.”
