This is one of the first parts to re-introduce theMUSINGS to our present and future writers. In this article, we talked about what stories we are interested in publishing.

We have plans to create more stories in this series, and we will strive to simplify the process for our writers to submit their work and get published.

To submit and get your work published, you should first join this publication as a writer. If you haven’t done it already, here’s the article to help you with that (a 2-min. read). Once that’s out of the way, let’s get started with the title of the article.

Personal Essays

This publication started with the purpose of sharing personal stories: stories of our success and our failure. But somewhere along the way, we lost that purpose, and it turned into a publication for everything. Seldom did I know that by doing so, this would turn into a publication good for nothing.

The publication became directionless and published anything and everything under the sun. Whatever came in as submissions, I edited and published it. This went on for quite some time until I got busy with other things (my studies), and this publication became dead.

Now that it’s getting a makeover, I want to put it out there that everything we publish should come under the ambit of “personal essays.” It should be your account, your experiences, stories from your life, lessons from the things that have happened to you.

You can be as creative as you want, as being expressive comes in all shapes and forms, and it’s unique to everyone. Just one thing, don’t submit poetries. The reason is that it doesn’t get views in our publication, quoting historical data.

Apart from that, you are free to submit stories of any length, though we advise it not to be more than a 7-minute read. But again, there’s no hard and fast rule as such in that concern.

In the next issue, we will discuss everything about formatting and proofreading the article, including the different tools that are recommended. Stay tuned for that and shoot your stories our way now that we’ve made it clear about what we publish.
