RE-DEFINING SUCCESS IN NETWORK MARKETING

There is this conception about success in Network Marketing that is leaving a lot of Network Marketers overwhelmed, which often leads to frustrations and absolute burn-out.

Most of us define success as having steady signups in our business, more sales of our products, and possibly when we are living our dream.

Now when many of us, especially the new ones, can’t achieve any of these in a couple of months, we are meant to feel like failures or we are not doing enough or better still, we will be asked to ‘keep pushing, we will get there”. This is an encouragement that we are all used to but I can’t say if it is really effective (If it is, why then do we have lots of quitters?)

We need to understand that:
The fear of social media is real
Not everyone loves the camera
Certain people actually are sales-phobic
Not everyone is meant to be an entrepreneur.
among so many things we term as laziness.

But what if there is a better way?

This is where Prospecting Progress (PP) tracking comes in.

What is Prospecting Progress? This is the ratio of Prospect Intent VS Prospect Actual.

Let me break this down:

I am a social media shy new Network Marketer and after a couple of training, my daily goal is to prospect 5 people (Prospect Intent). Now due to my ‘fears,’ I was able to summon the courage and prospect 2 people (Prospect Actual). My PP becomes 5 divided by 2 which gives us 2.5 and that is about 40% success!

Now seeing this will not only encourage me to try again but the next day and the next day and the next day.

Did those prospects sign up? We don’t know yet! and that is beside the point.
We have succeeded in getting the Newbie to start overcoming her fears and that is a win.

As she tracks her growth, she will see the benefit of personal development. She will start seeing results as she gets out of her shell and then with consistency, the income will start coming in and then we can help her define success as we usually do. Duh🙄😏!

Now, when we track our progress,
It helps us to aim higher each day.
It helps us determine our ideal audience.
It helps us to figure out where we are doing well and where we need to work on.
It helps us stay consistent as we will keep trying to beat our previous record

I believe that if we stop pushing our definition of success, stop flashing the whole money, vacation, etc. thingy in front of our prospects, they stop feeling as if they are failures and stop quitting.

It will also put less pressure on our team members and on ourselves.

So go ahead, start tracking your PP and start seeing yourself less overwhelmed.

PS: I created a Tracking System with a google sheet that you can easily use on your phone. Click here to access it no opt-in is required.
