Don’t Wake Me Up

Daniel Roxas
Jul 25, 2017 · 1 min read

If it’s your faces I’m going to see

If it’s your voice I’m going to hear

If it’s your bullets that will shoot me

If you’re going to remind me of my fears

Don’t wake my body

From my eternal slumber

For I will never be ready

To forfeit or surrender

To the game you play

Where your mouth is your gun

Forever here I stay

Until the light has won

Until your tongue is tamed

Until your soul has changed

Until nothing’s the same

And my hands are not anymore chained.
