Dear writers, artists, poets, and beloved readers. It’s been a minute. The Earth’s revolved around the sun, weather’s changed and you’ve poured your best ideas on paper, explored different worlds. We could not be more honored to offer the best home for your stories and continue to strive being the best place to find poetry and writing on Medium. Can’t believe it’s been years since we started and we continue to grow with more passion and commitment.
Since the beginning, we’ve made changes to develop better ways to communicate and hope to deliver the same throughout the year. So far we’ve made few official introductions to new writers. Hopefully you’ll forgive that in due time. At New North, we believe feeling like a community helps communicate ideas and develops our love for the craft. We will encourage that you clap and leave a comment or two on others’ stories. This is what connects and motivates us as seasoned writers and new writers alike. It creates an ambition that we share nowhere else on the internet.
The New Year is another chance to bring the best writings to a wider audience. Some of the best stories we’ve yet to write are already within us, some we see them taking shape around us, others move us when everything else seems uncertain. For some reason, this New Year brings that kind of uncertainty and yearning to tell good stories. Personally, it’s been a while since I was writing the way I used to, but it has changed in recent times. The feeling has slowly found its way back and I don’t dread looking at a blank white page.
Again, I would like to wish you and yours a Happy New Year’s and look forward to seeing more adventures and writings from all of us and our beloveds. We’ll be giving an update on the direction of the publication in the next newsletter. In the mean time, embrace the brave new world of stories and adventures awaiting. Cheers from us to you!
