“The Little Spanish Prison” by Robert Motherwell (1944)

I ate the spider on a full moon’s night, and nothing has been the same since. My hands look larger, and water tastes as if it has a tiny bit of ginger in it. I have developed an addiction towards opera, and a crippling fear of dolphins. Time seems to be going slower, and I have stopped hearing the chirping of birds. The sea is calling to me. I cough uncontrollably whenever someone mentions the colour yellow. Wearing shirts inside-out gives me a strange relief. Women with high heels suddenly seem irresistible.

I will keep documenting these changes as and when I become aware of them. Till then, do not eat any spiders — especially on a full moon’s night.
