Letter To No One
Poetry
The little bird knew it had to fly away
He knew his end would come if he didn’t jump
but loving lady death has its consequences
He looked into her eyes
felt his soul drain out of his body
said no pain ever felt so sweet
He gave the strings of his life to the executioner
and sat there waiting for her mercy
What has hope given him,
Except to take away everything he had?
Being kind requires efforts
Every time he saved a life
It took away a toll from his self
Nothing stopped him though
He kept going,
losing himself along the way
Today, here he stands
In front of his doom with a smile
her smile doesn’t scare him
She isn’t there to hurt him
She is there to take him away
Away from a world
that refuses to understand him
Maybe towards one where he
wouldn’t have to defend his existence
Where he wouldn’t be ashamed of his love
So he looks into her eyes one last time
stretches his arms
and vanishes into eternity
