We are nearing holiday season and many of us are preparing mood boards for our upcoming Halloween parties. These next few months tend to get busy, and between visiting family members and celebrating the one time of the year where it’s publicly acceptable to wear face paint and vampire teeth, fall can feel like a whirlwind of emotions. For those of you that need some fall inspo in your lives, we’ve got you covered.

Harlem Harvest Festival

This may be the only festival in New York where you’re encouraged to not act like a city dweller and, instead, relish in the small pleasures of handmade soap and maker culture. The Harlem Harvest Festival is a one-day celebration of artisanal artists and food vendors in the New York area. It’s also a kid-friendly environment featuring several seasonal activities like pumpkin picking and carving, face painting, a farmer’s market, and a children’s village. There will be free salsa lessons, live music performances—oh, and booze. Come out to Harlem to meet and support local vendors! Check out ticket prices here.

Oh, Bushwick. Many are calling it the new West Village. (Bedstuy babies, try not to roll your eyes.) It’s no wonder tons of college kids and 20-something artist types are attracted to this historic neighborhood. Its rich, diverse cultural makeup is truly something to relish. Up-and-coming artists and musicians flock here to get discovered and network with like-minded individuals, and the art scene is one of the most elaborate communities in the city. Consider the Bushwick Troutman Art Fest, then, a love letter of sorts to the neighborhood. What can you expect? Graffiti and lots of it. Art displays, installations, art trucks, costumes and parades, and designers and makers of all things awesome. Best part? It’s free! See you there!

Blood Manor is infamously known for lots of gore, blood, and affordable screams. For $35 bucks, what can you expect to see? Your nightmares, silly. Check out tickets here, but don’t wait too long. The house closes early next month.
