Happy Friday! It’s that time of the week again, when you’re torn between actually going out and staying safe in your blanket burrito. We know that struggle all too well. But here are new things worth leaving the house for.

Happy Lunar New Year!

MoMA PS1 has done it again. Tonight’s the night you can ring in the Lunar New Year with the city’s new queer Asian dance party, Bubble_T.

Featuring live performances, one-night-only installations, libations, and fireworks by renowned artist Cai Guo-Qiang, you won’t want to miss this.

Check out all the deets here!

Patent Pending

Did you know there’s a place in Flatiron that’s café by day and speakeasy by night?

In the AM, Patent Coffee serves fresh coffee and pastries but once the clock strikes five, it turns into Patent Pending, an underground speakeasy that feels exactly like a haute secret. To enter, ring the buzzer then pass through the candle-lit coffee shop and slip through the hidden door.

Housed in the building where Nikola Tesla first experimented with radio waves, the cocktails are inspired by the Father of Electricity. So come order the “Light Me Up” and “Hit By a Taxi” and watch those sparks fly.

Bitcoin is obviously having a moment. But if you’re not planning on getting in the game, come mine your own VR crypto-coins at the newest exhibition from the FELT Zine crew.

On Saturday, February 10th, they’re taking over Superchief Gallery NY for a night of never-before-seen virtual reality and amazing 3D art. On top of that, there’s going to be live DJ sets all throughout the event. Come through for the dopest time.

Pioneer Works Second Sundays

Every second Sunday of the month, Pioneer Works hosts a free all-day affair featuring live music, exhibitions, and more. This month, it falls on February 11th. If you haven’t seen Anthony McCall’s Solid Light Works yet, this is your chance! Warning: Your friends may have to pry you out of the ethereal gallery.

When you need some fresh air, pop out back to the garden and explore its nooks and crannies. But don’t stay out for too long, Superhuman Happiness gets on stage from 8–9pm.

The event is totally free, but RSVP here for the chance to win a free PW membership.
