Life’s Too Short to Stay Inside All Weekend
Don’t let the bitter cold stop you from having a good time
Happy Friday! It’s that time of the week again, when you’re torn between actually going out to eat and staying safe in your blanket burrito. I know the struggle too well, my guy. But here’s a few new things worth leaving the house for. Yes, even in these freezing times.
Sizzlin’ Shawarma
Craving good Lebanese food? Make your dinner plans in the East Village this weekend. If you haven’t yet dined at Au Za ‘atar, now’s the perfect time. Their new addition to the menu brings the sizzle right to your table (and your Instagram) — tableside shawarma served on miniature spits. It’s like a Lebanese take on Korean BBQ. The meat gets cooked right next to you and when it’s done, get ready for accouterments galore: pita, garlic totum, tahini sauce, homemade hot sauce, sumac French fries, and more. Make sure the impatient one in the group keeps their hands where you can see them.

“Twin Peaks” at the MoMA
The Museum of Modern Art is about to steal all of your non-Showtime subscribed hearts.
From Friday to Sunday this week, the museum will screen the entire season of Twin Peaks: The Return as part of their annual series on “the year’s finest films” for FREE. Because no matter where you fall in the ongoing TV vs. Film debate, it’s all art to the MoMA. As of now, tonight’s screening is all sold out so you better hustle for later dates.

Run for Donuts
Feeling antsy and heavy from staying inside all week? Donut Run 2018 is happening this Sunday. If this is your first time, here’s the basic gist: you run and then eat you eat donuts. It’s the most simple, and beautiful combination really. Join the folks from The Most Informal Running Club Ever under the Grand Army Plaza arch by Prospect Park at 10am, and jog your booty to Dunwell Donuts. It’s the one time you won’t feel guilty for treating yoself. Ready, get set, go!
