The Grammys have came and went but the urge to belt it out… that’s forever, baby. In honor of a night all about music, your favorite New Stand employees are ready to give you their go-to karaoke songs — in case you need some inspiration the next time you find yourself three glasses of wine deep flipping through a song book. Here are our answers to the seminal, meaningful, and soul-baring question: what’s your go-to karaoke song?

“Wall of Voodoo. ‘Mexican Radio.’”

— Jesse, VP of Media Partnerships & Revenue

“Mine is ‘This Kiss’ by Faith Hill because it’s 1) incredibly iconic and 2) a very wholesome song about ~love~ that everyone can relate + sing along to.”

— Libby, Editorial Associate

“Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You.’ Great lyrics HT to the songwriter Dolly Parton.”

— Tara, Bookkeeper

“‘Losing My Religion’ by R.E.M.. A song about someone at the end of their rope. Love Peter Buck’s mandolin riff and when I sing it, I can try and understand Michael Stipe’s lyrics.”

— James, Manager of Ferry Operations & Overnight Warehouse Team

“Mine is ‘7 Things’ by Miley Cyrus because sometimes you just need to scream and everyone else will admire that you took the lead on that.”

— Sara, Editorial Intern

“80’s forever! I love doing ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ by Queen because I love Queen so hard, but we’ve definitely had enough of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’ Also, it’s a song about being awesome and having a good time which is basically what we’re all feeling after a couple of drinks at a karaoke bar, right?”

— Cierra, Executive Assistant // Office Guru

“‘Baby Jane’ by Rod Stewart. Besides an awesome 80s music video. Has a great lead in and breaks with easy repeating chorus. Great unexpected choice!”

— Gregory, Assistant Buyer

“‘Call Me’ by Blondie because it’s a feisty metaphorical femme-power ballad that’s also quick and in a key I can sing.”

— Veta, Director of Enterprise

“‘Sweet Child of Mine’ if I’m prepared for a dance break during the guitar solo or ‘Rhythm of the Night’ by Corona its that kinda night.”

— Holly, Area Manager

“Mine is ‘Before He Cheats’ by Carrie Underwood because it’s one of those songs that everyone secretly knows all the words to so everyone can sing along. It’s also a very cathartic song to sing even if it doesn’t apply to your life.”

— Olivia, Content and Community Manager

‘I’m On a Boat’ by Lonely Island is always a solid go-to. It’s cheesy. It’s full of expletives. And it makes everyone rethink their relationship with Vineyard Vines without really having to force the issue.”

— David, Founder / CMO
