You haven’t seen your ride-or-dies in a while and someone has tea to spill. Save yourself the trouble of fruitlessly scrolling through Yelp listings with this mini guide to catching up with the home girls.

Sel Rrose

You know when you’re walking and you spot a bar or restaurant that speaks to your heart and you make a mental bookmark to come back someday? Sel Rrose is one of those places. Outdoor seating? Check. Seriously expansive list of cocktails? Check. $1 (and 25 cent) oysters? Check!

This pretty bar is your little slice of Parisian aesthetics on the Bowery. Yeah, there’s a lot of honking from the street during rush hour but it’s easy to tune out the noise when you’re enjoying the crap out of a conversation over French bites and dranks.

1 Delancey St

Vic’s

Yes, this is the Italian-ish restaurant with the Insta-famous flamingo wallpaper in the women’s powder room. But that’s not the only reason it’s on this list. The wait staff are super accommodating and know their food. Last time I went, our waitress expertly described the day’s specials and successfully convinced us to order mainly vegetable dishes. We were a table of four carnivores, and we still talk about the squash from that night. Don’t expect mindblowing food, but expect happy faces around the table.

Where you want to be if you want Korean home-style cooking without the tight hustle and bustle of K-town. First of all, what a great name for a restaurant; it rolls off the tongue and it’s memorable. Second, the cozy vibes are made for gathering around shareable plates and dranks.

Tip: Don’t come here to get full, come here to warm your soul with the braised short ribs and pretty drinks before you head into K-town for round two.
