The Left Jab #2

In cold January, the NEXT 100 Brought the Heat

The Next 100’s second issue of The Left Jab, our official newsletter, includes writing across the spectrum of politics, culture and spirituality. We publish twice per month to give readers a recap of our literary travels.

First, in the month where we celebrate the life and work of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we lost another giant of peace and justice, Thich Nhat Hahn.

It seems, on some level, appropriate that Hahn, a giant of Buddhist education and practice, died the same month that his good friend Dr. King was born.

The Next 100 also tried to deciper some tough issues. How bad is the U.S. Supreme Court historically? Should African Americans consider leaving America one day, on some level? And what is the problem with Black Republicans who vote for a party who are trying to stop Black people from voting?

But, as always, the NEXT 100 is also driven by culture and people. Ordinary people.

Here are our remaining TOP Five, this month, in the Chris Rock tradition. And do remember to follow the Next100, and subscribe to The Left Jab.
