Major League Baseball Made the Right Decision Moving Its All Star Game

The MLB All Star Game 2021, thanks to the reliable racist bigots in Georgia, is now in Colorado. Coors Field. I laughed when I read it.

As most know, MLB moved the game when the Georgia GOP legislature, controlled by Republicans, and its Republican Governor, Brian Kemp enacted a racist voter ID law recently in a blatant effort to stop Black people from voting.

“I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB Draft,” wrote MLB Commissioner, Robert D. Manfred.

I spent a little time today after reading that responding to bigoted posts from alleged baseball fans who accused Major League Baseball of caving to political pressure. Many said they were boycotting baseball for the decision. Some said the sport would soon die a painful economic death for leaving Georgia.

Don’t count on it.

I responded by telling some of them that sports is life and is political and politics and sports will never, ever be separated. Political change and baseball is joined at the hip historically.
