The Need for Stories
The Kauffman Foundation recently reported that 4 out of every 1,000 people in North Dakota become entrepreneurs each year, .4%. That means that the other 996 people have an important job: support the creators.
At NDSU, we know that students are an essential piece of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. If we are hitting the state-wide average of .4%, we should be seeing at least 10 students becoming an entrepreneur every year. To help us reach this goal, we need to tell the stories of entrepreneurs and the big ideas that inspire innovation. That’s why we’re so excited to launch Nice Productions.
Nice Productions is a student-led media production company capturing the stories and ideas from alumni, faculty, students and guests to campus.
Introducing Nice Productions
Nice Productions is a student-led media production company capturing the stories and ideas from alumni, faculty, students and guests to campus. We share these ideas as videos, podcast, blogs and social media messages.
Our first episode is our podcast with architect and Wold Lecture speaker David Cronrath on design thinking and the future of the university. Especially fascinating was his contention that solving big problems alongside professors is the reason students will continue to attend the university in the age of online learning.

Equally important to capturing the stories is creating the content. Our team of four student workers are becoming entrepreneurs themselves as they experiment on content creation and new forms of micro-content.
