What is ‘The Oracle Africa?’
The Oracle Africa is a platform focused on expressing afrocentric ideas through diverse forms of literature (fiction, essays, poetry, and more).
It is a home for writing that is ‘too African’ for the mainstream. A place where you don’t have to italicise non-English words because we relate–most of the time, and when we don’t, we’ll learn.
Our goal is to create a space where we tell our stories ourselves and showcase our world–both the mundane and the extravagant, the good and the bad and everything in between–with our own words and for ourselves.
We hope to urge writers to break free from the limitations of what we are told we can create as Africans and explore the realms of their minds.
Our vision is to create a comfortable place for writers to be themselves however they want, while being proudly rooted in their African identity and using it as inspiration to create work laced with pride.
For our readers, we aim to be a publication that houses writing from and about home which they can enjoy, relate to, learn from and find connection with.
