After getting our energies replenished by breakfast we headed out to have breakout sessions per project, where we discussed our respective project’s status and future plans. It was great to finally be all together in the same room.

Once the sessions were done the whole company gathered again in the main meeting room for our mission briefing. As it was last year, we hired the fine people of Moniker to organize the team bonding activities. This year the theme was James Bond related, meaning we got to play the part of being secret agents! We formed teams of 8/9 people each and divided by agencies: CIA, MI6, Mossad, IMF, U.N.C.L.E., S.H.I.E.L.D., Cobra, Kaos, Kingsmen, and Control.

I had the honor of being MI6’s captain!

We were tasked with following clues to find The Engineer, a criminal mastermind who wanted to steal All The Money In The World. In order to do that, a scavenger hunt was held in the cities of Saanen, Gstaad and Château d’Oex. We had four mandatory missions to complete, and several optional ones for extra points.

We were given train passes and the whole afternoon to go around the cities completing missions and challenges. It’s hard to describe in words how amazing is to experience not only getting to know these beautiful places but doing it so while in the company of talented, happy, friendly and awesome people.

Upon completion of all missions, we discovered the location of The Engineer’s headquarters, and back at the hotel a couple of buses were waiting for us to take us there.

THERE!! I’ve been lucky enough to have visited many beautiful places around the world, but when the bus stopped and we were dropped at the bottom of a chairlift I realized this was going to be something else.

At the top, a reception was waiting for us on a beautiful terrace, where we got to try some delicious raclette cheese on top of potatoes and sausages. A scene of 90 tired, but happy people, enjoying the company of friends, admiring the views and waiting for the sunset.

Needless to say, dinner was delicious. Cheese fondue, beer, and wine. And as it was during the reception, we were delighted by some yodeling.

Dessert was followed by the final scores for the day's missions, and sadly, I lost the literal arm-wrestling for second place. The after-party started, under the stars at the top of the mountain. Then we had to leave, not before taking the chairlift down, through the pitch black of the night, with only the stars and the faraway lights of the valley as the only sources of light.

Of course, the party continued at the bus and the hotel, but I left early (1:00 am) because the next day more meetings and games were awaiting. But that’s for another story.
