THEOS to collaborate on socially-minded project with Xcapit
The Theos.fi Association is excited to announce yet another partnership focused on socially-minded endeavors. THEOS will collaborate with financially-inclusive smart wallet provider Xcapit to support the UNICEF Venture Fund.
On this occasion, THEOS will assist Xcapit in creating and auctioning an NFT within the NFT.NYC conference framework. The NFT gracefully represents the financial exclusion struggle that many individuals face around the globe. The idea was born out of the painting created by Gustavo Abascal denominated “La independencia comienza con la libertad financiera” (Freedom starts with financial independence).
The piece showcases the eagle as a symbol of freedom, hope, and courage. With the adoption of cryptocurrencies, powered by blockchain technology, this artwork represents a call to empower the most marginalized communities with access to digital financial services, enabling all to realize an inclusive, accessible world.
Keeping with our ethos of building a socially conscious platform, the entirety of the proceeds raised from the auction will be given by Xcapit to the UNICEF Venture Fund, and will serve in aiding the development of financially inclusive tools for unbanked populations across the world.
This THEOS-Xcapit partnership highlights our excitement about NFTs from several angles:
- Bringing artwork to the blockchain. Through the minting of Gustavo Abascal’s artwork, we will help immortalize a piece that represents a cultural struggle for financial inclusion — a time before the migration to a more inclusive society.
- Opening new avenues to do good in the world. All proceeds from this project will go directly to UNICEF’s Venture Fund. We trust that this relatively new style of charitable fundraising will raise sizable amounts for a variety of great charitable organizations in the coming years.
- Uniting the future thinkers and leaders in the digital world. NFT.NYC is one the largest NFT events. Being able to join a project like Xcapit at an event like this is an exciting opportunity that enables us to participate in a representative environment that discusses innovative ideas.
