An excellent essay on the need for public solutions. As the more helpful responses show, we need to completely abandon the old, thoroughly bankrupt labels and their respective political dogmas. Yes, collapse of capitalism and minimally representative governments of whatever form, is what we need to overcome. The missing components are public, common ownership and commitment to absolute guarantees of all individual rights. These need to be remixed with innovative markets, personal responsibility and AI augmented direct democracy. What do people want and what do they think? That needs to be openly balanced with what do people need in our community and planet wide. All of these perspectives need to blend together to get us through the wreckage. Blind dogma is always blind.
