It had better not happen again. It’s very good to have George Takei keep this in front of as many people as possible. As a life long resident of Hawaii with kids and grandkids who are a beautiful mix of Japanese, Chinese, Haole (Caucasian for mainland folks) and other parts of Southeast Asia, we have historical awareness of many things. It’s now becoming a concern to have grandkids going to college anywhere but the west coast. That should never be an issue yet now it is. There were Japanese internment camps in Hawaii that was and is about one third Japanese ethnically. That was absurd and many families here remember. The Japanese internment was not a precedent but a shame. To have some ignorant racist claim that as justification for an immoral act is more than deplorable. . .
