The next step for the next stage

The next stage of collapse is depressing but ends with a note of hope. Can we rebuild the right way? Can we replace the government and economy we have with something that actually provides what the majority want rather than the small, corporatist elite’s demand for more? Can we meet the rapidly changing needs dictated by a planet in fully triggered climate change? Please note the planet doesn’t give a shit about us. It will grow new flora and fauna. We’re the ones who have to care. And we’re the ones with the illusion that we can care and can choose our future.

How do we do this? Sheer force of will? That’s probably not a good bet. Wait for 2018 and try to elect people who are not complete idiots? The system is obviously corrupt or we wouldn’t be here to begin with if the desires and will of the majority of the population had any influence. The people who own the government have dictated that we should not be given the option of free or low cost, efficient healthcare that we own. They have dictated that education should be so expensive that young people will think twice before bankrupting their families or condemning themselves to years of servitude. What happens when people receive an open, liberal arts education? Why, they don’t become authoritarians committed to ignorance and greed. Problem solved and make some money, too.

Is it the same everywhere else? Sure, no one can afford those things you’re asking for. Oh, those countries that have those things? They’re falling apart, it’s all a lie. They’ll be just like us soon. Sadly there is a large minority that has been deluded enough to believe this. After all we’re the best, right? No one has what we have. . . Right? But those of us that know the difference, what can we do?

It’s not hopeless and the changes that are happening all around us are showing us how this could change. But first we have to grasp the disaster that is happening. The whole thing is not going to fall down because we want it to. It’s going to be very, very hard to build what we really want out of the rubble of those continuing collapse. We don’t even know, yet, how hard it will be.

But the next step in countering the next stage is to ignore the corrupted federal and state governments. Don’t listen to the bullshit and say, everyday, what we want and need. Tune out the idiot in the White House with all of his minions. They are beyond embarrassing so ignore them and tell everyone that you are ignoring them. States with a shred of respectability are beginning to actively ignore illegal demands. We can build this to the point that nothing moves. Except us, to a future we control.
