It’s the other one . . .

For those with a military background the title of this publication is obvious. For those without the mixed blessing of military service in the endless succession of US wars, let me explain. When you learn to march at basic training there is a goo bit of confusion. Cadence is called on the left food. People who manage to move the right foot when “Left foot . .” is called are often told “The Other Left . . .”

With that being said it is not the traditional, political sense of Left that we’re dealing with here but something other than Left or Right. This is very much in the tradition of classic science fiction (another topic that will show up here) where I was very much impressed by an early direction to, “Go to Thursday and turn left . . .”. I’ve been trying to do that ever sense. . .

Make no mistake the basic assumption here is that, despite the violent lurches toward fascism in the US and Europe in the last few years, the transition to post-capitalist economics is tied closely to representational government as the arbiter between social groups and the final protection of the weak against the strong. This obviously assumes a ‘post’ to the capitalist era not in terms of market economics but in terms of greed as acceptable let alone as a virtue.

Dome of the ideas for exploration:

  1. Redistribution of wealth in the grossly imbalanced economies that are causing political reactions.
  2. Transitioning to the post scarcity world with Universal Basic Income.
  3. Developing post singularity AI as the managers of human society.
  4. Rapid social and political change driven by technology.
  5. Mixed reality as a political solution.
