Well, that’s one way to look at it

Unfortunately I think this is a good bit more complicated than that. I’m not willing to take time to put pieces together as there are too many and too often contradictory. I’m quit certain Trump is totally compromised with powerful Russian interests but, hell, the man is basically a low grade criminal and compromised by almost any group you can think of and some you can’t. But he is still useful and is covering a whole lot of serious pillaging and plundering while he fills his pockets as fast as he can. Trump is a distraction but a destructive one and that’s all he is capable of being.

If there was a nice evil consortium manipulating this I would be a lot happier. Tier one evil masterminds are logical if their goal is wealth and behind the scenes power and they will make everything work so they can make their cut bigger. It really does look now as if this thing is coming apart as fast as I’ve feared it was. We have a multipolar mix of wannabe dictators, hyper capitalists, unmanaged generals, religious crazies, and a collapsing two hundred year old political paradigm creating growing chaos. The center of the chaos is the old USA because Trump is pretty well insane and has succeeded in destroying the federal control system turning it into a kind of imperial bodyguard. The reactionary crazies clustered around him that have control of the government are not playing into the hands of the old neoliberal/neocon powers as was planned. They are mostly too stupid. Trying to manipulate fools is a losing game.

Putin is caught in Syria and has all he can do trying to takeover Europe with barely rational neofascist and racists that he wants to lead. What happens with Erdogan in Turkey now is anyone’s guess but I know Putin is frantic because that is all on his border. Trump’s buzz bomb attack was a stunt that had no effect on Assad and was mostly, it looks, a chance for him and Putin to be mad at each other. The problem, again, is irrational people who are out of control (Trump) and these things can go very, very bad very, very fast. The old lyric, “it seemed like a good idea at the time” . . , keeps playing in my head.

Right now the only hope I see is Xi Jinping. China has the world and will win and then will build it with Africa as the new wealth. Watch what he does. It was inevitable that an out of control Trump with generals suddenly seeing a chance for political power would have to have a go at Kim Jong Un. Kim is smarter than Trump and is counting on the generals to refuse any real Trump craziness. Kim knows that his only power is yanking Trump’s chain from a distance but he is by no means rational. He was raised to play the old game and has only yes men around him. I’m seeing an interesting chance that Xi may become Trump’s master by saving him from getting too far in to back out while putting Kim back in his box. A masterful hand stopping war between two crazies hated by the world. If that would happen China could prevent a lot of risk and trouble that they don’t want. China hasn’t wasted their resources on massive militarization as the US has but they are masters of the new virtual warfare.

All purely conjecture at this point but indicators are there. The primary issue is that it is all over for the US. It’s simply a matter of how much collateral damage results from the collapse. The Russia thing is real but minor . . .
