Yes, we are in a media war. I’m completely in agreement with you on taking down the old media with the new, direct media. The old media is the voice of the old state and the establishment oligarchy. This is not Watergate and there are no media champions of the people. We are, and must be, the media champions because the medium is really the new message. Our strength is being ordinary and diverse. Doing this right will produce facets of the truth that will come together and be recognized as such. Never completely in agreement, though, because this shit is not simple. A simple message is impossible. A simple message assumes you and everyone else are idiots. We must always look for the next layer, the next aspect, the next hidden feedback loop, and the next recursion. The people telling simple stories or claiming simple answers are the people we need to leave behind.

What you are calling for in a new mass investigative media can handle this complexity. The neofascists are old reactionaries who think in the simplest terms of us versus the other and brutality as the ultimate authority. Their complete inability to handle nonlinear complexity makes them far too incompetent for the age we are in. It doesn’t stop them from being dangerous because there are still people who refuse anything but simple answers. But complexity is our strength and where we are going and we must learn to do it because there is no choice. This is driving us to evolve in order to directly manage our planet and our great urban regions. We don’t need the old national governments, mass media, or hypercapitalist oligarchies. We’re moving on and able communicate and act directly.

But. . . For the reasons above I’m uncomfortable with your dismissal of the Russian connection. There’s nothing in the election scam. That was very real but on another level entirely and, I think, a trick that worked to some extent in Brexit and helped trigger the electoral college win for Trump, but was countered in France. But data is value and we all handle massive data with pattern matching that cues us to botnet information waves. Russia was heavily involved but there is both a Putin level and a Russian criminal (mafia) level with an international oil level. Sometimes they’re phases align but often not. That’s confusing. Putin has been playing those levels and has worked at it for years. Trump has been trying to get in for years and, I think, made too many financial deals that lead to too many dark places where very ugly things are buried . That’s why he is panicking. He is simple but wants to be at the private world level so bad he will do anything to get there. He thinks Putin is there and if he plays like Putin he can do it now. But Putin has years of KGB behind him and no problem having people killed to hold his position. This is very real and very ugly and Trump is scared but won’t stop. There is also a Chinese managed level that is a position of great strength but that is all I can tell. And Trump only sees it as a distraction. These are just some hints that I’m watching..

Hopefully you see, at least, why this is like no history we’ve ever had and why there are many ways to read the implications of every move or fail. Trump either failed on his own in firing James Comey or was tricked into it. Our structure is collapsing and we have mostly bit part players in Washington who are in so far over their heads it takes your breath away. That means too many wild variables. And the media aren’t sure who to answer to but they are only a shell. So it would probably be for the best if someone gets Trump back in line to put a normal bureaucrat in the FBI so you can be bored. But he is almost impossible to control when he is about to lose something he really wants. We don’t even know how many are playing Trump but there are many and some of them are Russian.
