A little review about Circle of Sumo: Online Rumble, a free-to-play game
It’s evening and you need a multiplayer game that can be played in a few minutes because the dinner is ready really soon. You are bored with all the complicated games like the beloved Dota or PUBG and the need for something new is felt. Maybe I can suggest you a game that I’m playing with my friends. Circle of sumo: online Rumble can be downloaded and it will be ready in a very short time. You will see that throwing your friends out and climb the rankings will be fun.
And yes sir, it’s free to play.
First, you need to know a word: sumo. In Japanese means literally “striking one another”. Circle of sumo: online Rumble distils this ancient religious tradition into an easy to learn, but hard to master experience. You just have to remember a bunch of four moves:
Run, Charge, Countermove, Dodge.
To win in this game players have to push outside the circle all the opponents 3 times. That’s it!
Just like the real Sumo.
⛩ The arenas & the sumōtori
Every arena has something different that can modify the results of an entire match. For example, the beach has a canoe on one side that can help you to hide from your enemies and prevent to be thrown out from a wild sumōtori. Use it to your advantage. At the moment there are 5 of them to try and to master. Another thing that you can choose is one of the 8 sumōtori. Each of them has different points on the three attributes Sprint, Power, Acceleration. My favourite one is Wise Wale because is perfectly balanced. In recent matches is often see a lot of Ice Kids, they are really fast and good at the “running strategy”. Match after match you will notice more and more the difference between them and you will the one that’s right for you.
🧗 The match & The ladder
There are two types of match, the 1v1 and the Free for All. Free for All mode it’s the most difficult in my opinion because you have to pay attention to all the other players and how they are playing. With the other 3 players is really difficult. Both modes have their own separated ladder and every grade of the ladder has the name of a professional sumo division. Unlike the offline version this it’s not a party game because at the moment you can’t create your own room and choose who to play with. It’s competitive and ladder based, everyone has the objective to gain more points the others during the time-based tournaments. And this is dope, I’ve seen people fight until the last minute to obtain the first place in the hourly competition. Whether you are stronger in the funny chaos of the Free for All or in mental games of the 1v1, you have the opportunity to make your qualities stand out.

Stay on the game’s Discord is really fun, you’ll meet nice people that can help you understand why you’re the first to go out of the circle. The game is made by a small and new team of developers, you’ll also find them in chat.

PRO TIP: Try to ghosting close a to the wall when an opponent is trying to hit you. You’ll find out soon that’s not (most of the time) a good idea 😛
