A New Approach to Teaching: Meeting Students Where They Are with Artificial Intelligence
In my role, I often find myself in a situation where, after explaining a concept, I realise that only half the people have grasped it. It’s not because the other half aren’t switched on, but rather because I’ve not explained it in a way that aligns with how they digest and understand information.
This is a common issue in schools, where lessons are often taught in a chosen method, regardless of whether all students understand or not. I compare it to attempting to explain something in a language someone does not understand. It’s neither fair nor effective.
Despite the many Terminator GIFs I have seen recently (such as this one 👇), I think AI, and specifically ChatGPT, can provide a solution to the issue. It could be the key to tailoring lessons to children’s learning preferences.
