Director of Business Development

The director of business development is responsible for forming and building relationships with major brands and media companies to develop programs based on their social impact initiatives. The job is based in Chicago, but with frequent travel to New York, San Francisco, and potentially other destinations.

As a core part of a small team, you’ll be developing your own leads and programs, attending and speaking at conferences, and facilitating the entire process for new client.

Key qualifications include:

  • Proven consultative sales and entrepreneurial business development success both individually and as a part or leader of a team
  • Experience with marketing and basic knowledge of online marketing technology
  • Strong personal communications skills
  • Enthusiasm for corporate social impact and responsibility
  • Self directed, motivated, and energized

Other strong considerations:

  • Direct experience with ad tech
  • Experience working with nonprofits and NGOs
  • Experience working with media companies
  • Experience working with marketing agencies
  • Thought leadership, speaking experience, or writing about marketing, brands or social impact

Director of Client Success

The director of client success is the operational head of client facing programs at Public Good. This is a new function at the company, so you’ll initially perform all of the work and ultimately build the team to scale it. The goal of the client success team will be to coordinate with clients as well as the business development and product teams to ensure that new programs exceed client expectations and are executed smoothly and efficiently.

Key qualifications include:

  • Experience as an account manager or similar role at a marketing agency or related business service provider, individually and as a part or leader of a team.
  • Good working knowledge of internet technology and digital advertising. No coding is necessary, but you may need to write technical requirements or interact with unpolished systems.
  • Highly organized and clear communicator with the ability to keep several projects in flight at one time.
  • Enthusiasm for social impact and corporate social responsibility.

Other strong considerations:

  • Creative or design skills
  • Experience working with media companies
