Bumble:
Keeping me a busy queen 🐝
Jk. The only queen bee is Queen B herself, and she’s close to godliness.
I think Jordan Chandler mentioned Bumble the other day, and I thought I’d give it a try.
I’ve learned a few things.
- Weeding out the fuckboys is relatively fast and painless.
- As someone who’s an Asian American female on an app where the typical user is a “white preppy female,” I’ve got an advantage. As the token nerdy Asian girl, I guess.
- I still have a lot of room to learn and grow.
I was surprised by the depth of the conversation I had on the first date with this one guy today. He remembered me from our Writing 101 class in fall of freshman year. Conversation flowed easily, and I felt like I was actually being heard. Like my opinion mattered.
Do you know how rare it is to find guys who take the time to listen?
It’s really rare.
I wasn’t attracted to him, though. But maybe we could be good friends. There just wasn’t the chemistry and flirtiness that goes on when I’m romantically attracted to someone. :/ I just hope I made my intentions clear.
As for the guy in the pic I posted above: I’m tryna figure out why he has a preference for East Asian/Middle Eastern girls. I’ve yet to hear his reply. I’m not even judging him that hard just yet — I’m genuinely curious about what he has to say.
🤷🏻♀️ Who knows what people think when they write things like that? I certainly don’t know.
