A few years ago Cathy Gayner got in touch with me about her cookery book, ‘Recipes from Le Rouzet’, a masterclass in how to entertain for a crowd at her country home in Le Rouzet, France, in hopes that I might help publicize it to aid the charity she co-founded, Age Unlimited. A huge success in terms of cookery book sales, she raised £75,000 during the Covid-19 pandemic, funding various projects in Suffolk, England, from helping impoverished, often forgotten about elderly people to disadvantaged young people.

Eighteen months ago she decided to retire from Age Unlimited, but because these projects she funded meant so much to her, she found it incredibly difficult to step back. So she did what she knew, she went back to her kitchen, seeking to write down all her family’s favorite recipes, hoping that she may continue to fund a couple more projects. This is when she got back in touch with me to tell me about her latest book.
