Frances Quinn designs with food, creating beautiful interactive bakes that she calls ‘scenes’, like her biscuit sandcastle. Using a spoon, otherwise known as a spade, she loves watching people dig into it to reveal its creamy cheesecake center.

Since winning The Great British Bake Off in 2013 with a three-tier edible confetti wedding cake showstopper, she now creates beautiful cakes with whimsical twists and surprises that continue to charm her fans.

Frances, your three-tier edible confetti wedding cake has to be one of GBBO’s best showstoppers. Have you been asked to recreate it since winning?

I’ve made that cake for quite a few occasions, changing the color of the edible confetti flowers to match the wedding’s color theme.

Since Bake Off, I’ve made many wedding cakes, some traditional and some not so traditional, like the tiffin tower I made for my friends who got married in Cornwall.
