I’m a logical thinker and a proponent of evolution for that reason. The evidence seems overwhelmingly in favor of small advantageous genetic derivations being passed on to our progeny resulting in more successful and healthier subsequent generations. Completely logical argument for evolutionary theory.
But I’ve got some concerns about the genetic long-game. We peak physically between or 20s and 30s. We are strong, virulent, and fast if not yet wise when we are young. Successful genes allow most of us to find mates and produce offspring. We felt invincible!
After 40, our bodies broke down faster than a community rec center being imploded to make way for the new Mega-Mall. Logically, there must be an evolutionary reason for this collapse; it must be essential to the success of our species. Right?
