Blade of God X: Where Souls and Web3 Collide
Void Labs has forged a new legend in the Action RPGs space with Blade of God X (BOGX) — the official evolution of the widely successful Blade of God (BOG) franchise. BOGX stands as the title to capture the opportunities of web3 tech — introducing player ownership, player transactions and AiAgent player creation.
An Epic Quest for Redemption
In BOGX, players inhabit the roles of legendary heroes burdened by dark mysterious identities rooted in ancient Nordic mythology. Their quest spans to battle the “sacrificers” who have lost their destinies, all while seeking redemption on their own terms.
Just before the destructive events of Ragnarok, negative forces were rising in the lands. Odin, the all-seeing god, battled to capture heroic souls. Meanwhile, Loki, the deceitful trickster god, crawled out of the darkness.
Amidst this grim era, three powerful figures arose with pivotal roles to play:
Chaos — The defiant rebel challenging the very fate of destiny itself.
Esther — An ancient warrior, reawakened in this dark era.
Hela — The banished goddess of the underworld realm, making her return.
These legendary heroes foretold the coming apocalypse of Ragnarok.
The Soul Card System
Mastery in BOGX stems from obtaining powerful Soul Cards through in game Gacha and The Wheel of Fortune systems. Each Soul Card contains unique heroic skills that can be strategically combined into devastating skill chains, allowing players to conquer battles and uncovering the deepening lore.
The Blockchain Integration
In embracing their web3 design thesis, BOGX players have the ability to mint these Soul Cards as NFTs. This implementation provides players true ownership over their earned asset, which can be refined and traded securely on the blockchain.
Depth of Game Development
The team behind BOGX boasts an impressive pedigree. Void Labs, the developers of BOGX, was founded by Tnise. Tnise had previously served as CEO and Founder of PGSoul Games Studios during the launch of the Blade of God IP. Their flagship game from that IP, Vargr Souls, garnered over 500K downloads on the Google Play Store.
The PGSoul Games team itself had an impressive track record, having raised over $8M USD while successfully launching more than 70 games that amassed 200M international downloads since its founding in 2011.
Recently, the BOGX Team announced they have secured multi-million dollar funding from a group of elite investors, driving the power of innovation towards AI and gaming following the success of their 1st alpha test phase.
The Alpha
The 1st Alpha Test of BOGX saw a diverse global participation, with players coming from various regions including Europe, Southeast Asia, East Asia, North America, South America, and other parts of the world. The test fostered a strong community collaboration, with numerous communities participating and distributing community codes. The alpha attracted many community testers who created over 2400 accounts. Players exhibited impressive engagement, with a daily average online time of 262 minutes.
The retention rates were impressive, indicating sustained interest and enjoyment throughout the first alpha testing period. With 74.04% on Day 2, 64.82% on Day 3, and an impressive 56.11% on Day 7, more than 50% of their playerbase were still engaged with the game at the test close, defying the speculative nature and quick attention spans often seen in this space. This impressive retention along with the announcement of their coveted AiAgent has generated significant excitement for the upcoming second test phase.
