⛑ 09 ⛑ Research Summary 2— How to find a hidden/spy camera

If you care about your privacy safety when you go outside if you just read my last article talking about the recent sneak-shotting news, if you worry about your love and friends who will be shot secretly, please just browse this article seriously. I believe you will live in a safer environment:)

Now, I am gonna talk about how to find a hidden camera, where you could find it and the difference between different countries’ laws.

Hidden camera types:

1. Local Storage Camera ( with SD card ) — Physical detecting ways(observing the marks of the camera) are more reasonable to find it.
2. Wireless camera or Wi-Fi Camera — Digital detecting ways(scanning the wifi signal) are more useful.

Instruction on how to find a hidden camera:

1. When you arrive at a hotel, public restroom, locker room, or any risky space, please don’t be careless;
2. Turn off the lights in the room, close the curtains, and carefully check whether there are red lights flashing;
3. Turn on the flashlight of the mobile phone and scan the corner of the room to see if there are reflective highlights;
4. Check whether the mirror in the bathroom is a double-sided mirror;
5. Use a detector that detects invisible cameras, or a mobile app to check if there are inexplicable signal sensors in the room;
6. Check WiFi in your room to see whether there is an odd connector;
7. Use thermal sensors to detect whether there is signal emission in the room;
8. When doing the above, focus on the corners where the camera is easy to hide (listed below).

Inside(like home, Airbnb, hotel):

• Hairdryer holders
• Wall sockets
• Alarm clocks or radios
• USB sticks
• Wall hangings; pictures, mirrors, etc
• TV, or digital TV boxes
• Shelves; like bookshelves
• Electrical outlets switch sockets
• Wall thermostats and smoke detectors
• Sofa cushions and stuffed animals
• Lamps and other decors
• Air vents
• Air filters
• Tabletop plants and flower arrangements
