10 Twitter accounts everyone in the 650 should follow
Used to get your local news from Twitter, but having trouble dodging Trump? We got you covered.
We’ve compiled the top 10 accounts you should be following on Twitter to stay in the 650-know and have a few laughs along the way.
In no particular order…
Recent crimes and traffic alerts in Mountain View, with ridiculous public service videos sprinkled in. The Mountain View PD seems to be having way too much fun with this!
The account technically says it’s written from Mars, but we know Elon is somewhere around Tesla’s HQ in Palo Alto. Bored Elon tweets new product ideas when he’s tired of changing the world.
3) @burbed
Snarky reports of the Silicon Valley housing market and a laughable reminder of just how impossible it is to buy a house around here.
4) @alevin
Menlo Park transportation commissioner tweets more than you thought possible about Cal Train and optimizing commute times. Great way to stay in-the-know on local transportation.
That big, bird cage looking structure off the 101, near the NASA Ames Research Center, is called the Moffett Hangar 1 and it has real feelings too! Hilarious, personal tweets about it’s history.
Mountain View resident and author of “The Martian,” Andy Weir mostly tweets about space travel. With a new TV show on the way, his feed should be a good source of updates there as well!
7) @aaronlevie
Box CEO who isn’t afraid to speak his mind and often has the wittiest responses on Twitter to current events. Even when he gets political, it’s comical.
An employee at Next Door and new member of Palo Alto City Council, Adrian’s outspoken on Twitter about his policy beliefs, especially when it comes to development and affordable housing.
9) @PetsInNeed1
Amazing stories of adoption from this no-kill animal shelter in Redwood City. Their #happyhour tweets will brighten your day and make you want a dog or cat even more!
10) @mrosd
Midpeninsula Open Space Preserve will give you weekend hike ideas and let you know when trails are closed before you go!
Oh yeah, and one bonus suggestion for you…
