Every Independence Day brings innumerable prospects for capturing that artsy Insta posts — and many Peninsula netizens haven’t failed to deliver. We scoured Instagram, sifting through countless long-exposure firework shots, pics of flags flapping in the wind, and endearing family iPhone snaps. Redwood City’s parade was a clear favorite destination, as was Palo Alto’s Chili Cook-Off and Shoreline’s annual SF Symphony performance. Here are some of our favorite shots from various festivities.

No Fourth of July parade is complete without horses, and Redwood City’s parade didn’t disappoint. Snapped by @bakewelltart.
We love this eye-catching chalk art at the Redwood City parade by artist Marion Yanes (@tonitoart).
@bigalart’s rendition of this couple at the Menlo Park Parade just fit the mood.
An amazing long-exposure by @vineyard5230_photography, featuring Shoreline Lake’s boathouse.
Festivities during the San Jose Earthquakes’ big win over LA Galaxy at the Stanford Stadium by @mls.
Just one last firework shot, we promise! That soccer game was just too good. Credits to @wyatt.mullen.
Not the Peninsula, exactly, but wow, the epitome of Instaworthy. Courtesy of @nowrongwaysf.
