Your feedback was received and we listened!

A few weeks ago we launched our beta to a closed group of users to test out The Storybook Factory and see where we could improve. Overall, the reactions were quite positive and resulted in a lot of great ideas. The data and tips we received from our users will be used to make an even more optimal experience for everyone.

Our current site set up

One of the more notable aesthetic features we were lacking was the early childhood friendly user interface for our very young users. We absolutely love the design style that we’ve adopted onto the site, but as developers we were looking at it from a fun minimal aspect and not from the viewpoint of a child. Kind of important, right? Well, we took a look at what would could do and realized that our users were not going to be just one single age demographic. So how do we make a site that is user friendly for multiple age ranges? Please welcome, ‘Early Childhood Mode’. This new feature, which is still a work in progress, will be the door to every young child who needs a little more excitement and engagement.

To do this, we had to do some research to see what kids enjoyed looking at the most. That, with the help from our teachers, is leading us to some pretty cool features that we think kids will enjoy immensely. It’s been awhile since any of our team members have been kids (even though we still act like it sometimes), so this is a new challenge for us.

Still in development!

Early Childhood Mode, as we are calling it, will be a much much much easier way of navigating our already easy to use site. The differentiating factor between a normal user and an early childhood user will be the arrangement, sizes, and interactive behaviors of the elements on the site itself. Kids enjoy the goofiness and color associated with the cartoons and games they play, so we thought we should bring that to our platform as well.

Along with early childhood mode, the list of improvements continues to grow. We can’t wait help children everywhere grow to become lifelong readers and learners. Thank you for joining us!

Happy Reading.

If this is your first time hearing about us, then welcome! We encourage you to check our site. Children’s books are our passion and we want to share that passion with you…in our own way.
