Admit it… you know you judge a book by it’s cover. It’s ok though, we all do it — especially kids. There’s nothing wrong with this method of selecting books (as I’m sure it’s every child’s more preferred method), but consider how many great books a kid will overlook simply because the cover didn’t meet their standards. At The Storybook Factory, we felt that we could offer an improved solution for kids to discover new and exciting books. Today we’re excited to announce that we’ve done just that with something we are calling: Category Cards.

Our mission has always been simple: To to inspire every child to read by providing them with the tools and resources to become incredible storytellers. Over the past two months, our team has worked to build a smart library that reflects a child’s interests and can identify what a child might be interested in reading. To achieve this, we had to completely redefine the way a user would sign up for our site and use it as an opportunity to better understand our readers. If you asked a kid today what they wanted to read about, what do you think they would say? That’s what we continually asked ourselves, but now we are asking them. Inside of our redefined sign-up flow, you will find that a child now has the freedom to choose the topics and genres they are interested in reading through a selection of ‘category cards’. We then use this information to suggest certain titles that they never even considered reading.

We are extremely happy to be bringing these new features to you, continuing to pursue our goal of making The Storybook Factory the easiest, most engaging way for kids to read and discover great new books.

But that’s not all…

In addition to category cards and our smart library, we are releasing over 100 new books to our site to complement these new features.

Visit thestorybookfactory.com/signup to help your child set up an account today. If you have any questions, feel free to email us anytime: hello@thestorybookfactory.com

Happy reading :)
