Theta welcomes Mr. Kanghoon Won, LG Uplus product executive, to Theta Advisory Board

We are delighted to announce that Mr. Kanghoon Won, LG Uplus IPTV platform and service team leader executive, is joining Theta’s advisory board. LG Uplus formerly known as LG Telecom is a leading telecommunications company in South Korea and a subsidiary of LG Corporation, Korea’s fourth largest conglomerate. As a new advisor to Theta Labs, Mr. Won will play a strategic role to expand our reach in Korea and broader Asia particularly focused on media business areas.

Mr. Won has 21 years of experience in the video content and IPTV platform business industry. He first started his career at Dacom, where he managed content business for the first ever ISP in Korea — Chollian, and then worked at the SBS Content Hub where he was managing premium website content and VoDs. Now he is in charge of LG Uplus’ mission to advance the IPTV platform through building strategic alliances with various domestic and overseas partners including Google, Naver, Netflix, and Amazon. In 2018, Mr. Won was awarded the Korea IPTV Broadcasting Association President’s Award in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of IPTV. He graduated from the Korea University with a degree in French Language and Literature major, and finished an LG Group MBA course.
